It is reported by Medical
Specialists after the Coronavirus Vaccine some people are suffering from a lot of visionary infections as eyelid puffiness, swollen eyelids, red eyes,
itchy, pain, and inflammation but only in a few cases.

COVID-19-Vaccine-Side-Effects

But there is no scientifically and medical proof that can give you evidence
of any side effect related to vision surfaced from the COVID-19 vaccine.

Pfizer and BioNTech are both multinational No.1 companies. Moderna (mRNA-1273) covid-19 vaccine
manufactured by these companies.

Relating with eyes and the visionary problems an incident has been reported in a city of America. A healthcare worker is facing problems of eyes puffiness and blurry visions after a Coronavaccine dosage shot. But the American health authority
(FDA) investigated other related eyes problems after this vaccination.
But still, it’s worth noting.

Ophthalmology and COVID-19 Vaccine

When we discuss Covid-19 definitely we are all involved in it. According
to the Medical Researchers in the latest COVID-19 wave research, almost
69% of Ophthalmologists have already taken a dose of Coronavirus Vaccine
and the remaining 28% have a mind to take this Vaccine shot.

Only 3% eye specialist says that they are not interested to take this vaccine shot. In fact, if we take notice in our surroundings Coronavaccine camps are spreading rapidly until people are standing in the lines for taking COVID-19 vaccine shots.

Swollen Eyelids after AstraZeneca Vaccine

I have AstraZeneca vaccine experience you may develop mild physical symptoms such as fevers chills and muscle aches after receiving the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine. Our immune system generates antibodies against the coronavirus due to the activation. This process is known as “Reactogenicity” in order to successfully generate antibodies against the Covid-19 virus.

Our body has to activate our immune system as a response to the vaccine and subsequently generate effective antibodies to protect us from getting very sick when exposed to the virus in the future. Those symptoms we may get after receiving the dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine are expected as there is a sign of an effective response to the vaccine.

One potential concern to this is that people who have certain eye diseases or have had certain eye surgeries that are susceptible to increased eye information due to the activation of the immune system need to take precautions and discuss with the ophthalmologist the right way If they notice any vision changes.

One of those eye conditions is any history of a cornea transplant. There are different types of cornea transplants that are done for different eye diseases either partial-thickness or full-thickness cornea transplant.

One of the risks of cornea transplant is a rejection of the transplant that can occur at any time after the surgery, the typical point of transplant rejection symptoms are
  1. Vision changes
  2. Light sensitivity eye
  3. Eye Pain
  4. Eye Redness
Since the mechanism of cornea transplant rejection is through increased inflammation in the eyes. Any significant increase of systemic inflammation through activation of the immune system can potentially trigger a cornea transplant rejection episode.

Therefore people with a history of cornea transplant need to pay close attention to any changes in their vision eye pain and light sensitivity after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine. So discuss with the eye specialist about essential steps to take before vaccination to prevent cornea transplant rejection.

As an ophthalmologist, I have seen many cases of cornea transplant rejection after the AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccine. But all of these cases were successfully treated when rejection episodes were diagnosed in a timely.

It is important to remember that the studies in past have not shown cornea transplant rejection with any kind of vaccine. However, what we are looking at now is that there seems to be an increased number of cases reports of cornea transplant patients.

Could this be a coincidence or is there a causal relationship between the two events developing cornea transplant rejection after the AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccine?

The answer is that we don’t know yet. There have not been any studies to date which establish a causal relationship between the Covid-19 vaccine and cornea transplant rejection. It will know more as more data becomes available.

There will be more studies coming out to analyze and report those cases and to guide eye surgeons or ophthalmologists to diagnose and treat eye symptoms related to AstraZeneca vaccination.

It is very important to us as for our clinical experience is know that if you have any history of cornea transplant you should be in contact with your eye doctor and be aware of the symptoms of the cornea transplant rejection.

It is also important to remember that concern about coronary transplant rejection episodes is not a reason not to get a covid-19 vaccine. As studies have shown that FDA approved AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccine is highly effective in preventing hospitalization or death from severe covid-19 disease and the transmission of the disease.

This article is an awareness for people with certain eye symptoms such as cornea transplants. Should follow up with eye doctor closely monitor for any changes in their eyes after receiving Astrazeneca vaccine and to identify potential problems in timely and start treatment accordingly.

The other eye symptoms that may flare up after the AstraZeneca covid-19 vaccine include herpetic eye disease and uveitis which can flare up due to increased systemic inflammation.

Another important thing to remember is that the AstraZeneca vaccine is effective at protecting our community as a whole by building herd immunity against the sars cov2 virus. If you have any history of a cornea transplant or history of eye inflammation in the past. It is important to follow up with your eye doctor before and after receiving the vaccine.

And especially if you feel any vision changes or any other changes in your eye health.

Other Vaccines Connected with Vision Problems

Normally Allergic reaction occurs after all diseases vaccination. but we will point out some necessary reactions after different vaccines. Flu the vaccine also called seasonal vaccine it becomes the cause of eye redness,
swelling, and pain.

Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR) vaccine has an adverse effect it can affect the optic nerve which can cause swollen eyelids. Conjunctivitis (Pink
Eye), Keratitis of the cornea, Retinopathy, and blindness are the result of other side effects.

After the Chickenpox Vaccine, your skin can get rashes and soreness.

Conclusion

So a result of Eye specialists and Researchers, there are no visionary side effects of the Coronavirus Vaccine. In comparison, the benefits of
COVID-19 vaccines are more than the side effects against the dangerous virus. In this pandemic situation, COVID-19 is the only solution for saving your life. You can take and use this Vaccination without any fear and hesitation for your healthy life. Have healthy life, healthy future.
